I began making video as an artist. My work was shown in art galleries across the world including MOMA and a one-man show at the ICA. Video art was fun to make but I didn't like the pomp that came with it.
I got a job making video for business and liked it. There's still room for creativity but the film must serve a function. If it fails you won't get hired again. I like that straightforwardness.
I've continued to make short films and write scripts and I've won some awards, but I don't call it art. Recently I did some "acting" to experience being on the other side of the camera.
I run the company with my wife Melanie and direct most of the productions. We've recently had a beautiful son, which is giving me a new outlook on life, as well as less sleep!
My favourite film is Notorious by Hitchcock.
